I'm Mike Bradley, an associate professor at Arkansas Tech University and a researcher in outdoor recreation, parks, and tourism, with more than 60 peer-reviewed articles.

Mike is Outside is where I think out loud about two things: why time outdoors matters to us personally, including the meaning we find in it and the attachment we form to places, and what it takes to lead conservation and outdoor recreation well. Some posts draw on research. Some start with a book, a documentary, or a day on Crooked Creek. Most end up somewhere between the two.

I serve with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's conservation education program and on boards related to outdoor recreation and natural resources. When I'm not working, you'll probably find me in a state park, fishing, or on the back porch with a cup of coffee.
